ABOUT THE BOOKAre you tired of living the same life with a feeling of no direction, purpose, or passion? Have you searched for meaning in your life but continually fall back into the same routine? Do you get up every morning feeling like Bill Murray in the movie Groundhog Day? Do you stare into the bathroom mirror with a glare that says; “I need to find ‘how to’ ways to break free from this rut?” You know there is a better way to live. You know there is a better way to accomplish more things. You know there is a better way to interact with your co-workers, family and friends, and people in your community. You know you have tons of creative ideas but no motivation to make them a reality. The funny thing is you are self-aware – which is a good thing – because knowing you are living in a continuous cycle of the status quo; makes you open for change. How would you like to go on a life-altering journey through proven how-to to methods that will synergize that ego of yours to accomplish out-of-your-world results? Of course, you would!Egosynergistics is the approach you have been searching for and here it is in a well-written, detailed, at times humorous, step-by-step how-to book. This book is not a quick fix or a one-time-and-done thing that will get you immediately on the path to becoming an Egosysnergist. Your journey will take time. You will need to be tenacious and accepting of new approaches at the turn of every page. You will first learn about the narcissist and egotist, of which the assumption here is you are neither. The further belief here is given that if you are reading this introduction you will be labeled an Egorealist. The picture below shows the four levels of human existence where the narcissist has no opportunity, and the egotist has some opportunity to become a better ego-being. Where you, the Egosrealist clearly can move toward becoming an Egosynergist and there is never an end to your journey.
Your ego is the combination of your subconscious mind, conscious mind, and mindful mind’s translation of yourself. Your ego is about a whole lot of “selfs”, such as, self-esteem, self-respect, self-confidence, self-image, self-importance, and self-actualization. At this point in your life, you are more than likely an individual who has made the conscious decision to become more self-aware. You have been an Egotist for as long as you can remember, or you have been an Egorealist but feel you have more to accomplish. With an awareness of your ego’s shortcomings, you are making efforts to be a better spouse, lover, partner, parent, co-worker, and person. However, you find it difficult to make consistent changes in your ego to derive any substantial improvements in your life, so you regress into your safe, Egotistic, or passive Egorealist place. As an Egorealist, you have a clear understanding of your personality, behaviors, strengths, attitudes, beliefs, biases, areas in need of improvement, inner thoughts, emotions, motivations, and approach to relationships. And because you have such an astute view of yourself, you understand the same in others. From the moment you start reading this book, you will be shown how to develop your senses around self-awareness. Being self-aware will be your ability to consciously recognize who you are as a distinct ego-being. You will also understand how you relate to your surroundings and the people you interact with every day. As an Egorealist you will find that introspection is an important part of being self-aware. For example, someone who says the following of themselves, “Yep, I know I am an asshole when I have too many drinks in me” is not self-aware. The distinction here would be if they were self-aware, they would make sure not to drink so much so they wouldn’t turn into an “asshole.” This person (an egotist) uses their statement; “when I drink, I turn into an asshole” as an excuse for displaying inappropriate behaviors. They have no intention of taking any action to be a better ego-being and therefore continue their inappropriate approach to life as an asshole. Funny thing, they usually surround themselves with other assholes, and many come from a family of egotistic assholes.
My point is, if the statement made by Rick Moranis; “I’m surrounded by assholes,” is one you can relate too, I suggest you look at your own assholiness and search for a new group of friends. The key to being self-aware is introspection, self-examination, self-analysis, and accepting the value of your inner voices and mindful mind’s eye to identifying the methods to change behaviors and actions accordingly. This book will help you work on specific ways to enhance your self-awareness, to interpret your thoughts, emotions, inner dialogues, inner visualizations, and feelings with the intent of creating opportunities for you to be a better ego-being, and ultimately a mindful Egosynergist. Much later in the book you will learn how to transition from self-awareness to mindfulness and strengthen the foundational elements necessary for your transition from Egorealist to Egosynergist. These elements are: • How to let go of the past, events that are affecting you negatively, to move forward.• How to develop your conscious, subconscious, and mindful mind’s eyes, and voices.• How to use your mindful mind as the facilitator of your inner thoughts and dialogue.• How to clean and prepare your pineal gland to help with visualizations.• How to develop your ability to visualize your ideas to then create greatness.• How to learn the importance of being in constant learning mode.• How to use specific methods to help you change your behaviors. As an Egorealist, you will be introduced to EIGHT ELEMENTS essential for your transition to becoming an Egosynergist. Element One: Being EXTRAORDINARYElement Two: Being Honest-likeElement Three: Being Humble-likeElement Four: Being Trustworthy-likeElement Five: Being Vitality-likeElement Six: Being Forward thinking-likeElement Seven: Being Courageous-likeElement Eight: Being Inspiring-like Before you get into a tizzy about the use of the “like” reference, here is why it is a significant to the way you will approach modifying and hardwiring your behaviors relative to Elements 2-8. The reasoning here is a descriptor was needed for each of the seven elements that would represent something less than absolute. For example, if you were asked if you are an honest person, you always told the truth, and taught your kids to be always honest in their life relationships, how would you answer? If you answered, absolutely, tell the truth the whole truth, and nothing but the truth – bullshit! NO ONE CAN CLAIM ABSOLUTE PERFECTION except the Narcissist and hard-core Egotist. Therefore, the word “like” is attached to represent how you will adapt your behaviors toward each of the seven elements. For example; the notion of “honesty is the best policy” does not fit within Element 2: Honesty-like. It is suggested that being honest in every interaction, at every opportunity, ALL the time, does not fit the characteristics of an Egosynergist. It is more important to be aware of when honesty is the best approach and when it is not. Here is a story told in the book that should help clarify the use of the descriptor “like” – it’s called “Grandma’s Christmas Sweater.”
This is an interesting-looking sweater. If I wore this sweater to school at age 12, I would have created a field day for the school bullies. Here is my “honest-like” response to my grandmother who made this sweater. “Grandma, this is a fabulous sweater. I will feel the love you put into making it every time I wear it. I can’t wait to wear it to school and show it off to all my friends.” I wish I had a picture of my grandma when I tried on the sweater and gave her the biggest hug and kiss. Priceless! Now let me take a stab at what an “honest is the best policy” response would sound like.“Grandma, I know you worked hard on the sweater but honestly, I can’t wear this thing, especially to school, because my friends will make fun of me. Thanks anyway.”Do you think my grandma will make any more sweaters for me or anyone else? She might even lose interest in knitting. And more than likely my grandma would have my mother buy my future Christmas presents. Okay, so I was honest and now I will always get a gift that I want and can use, because I will tell my mom what to buy for me for Christmas and then she can tell my grandmom she got it for me. Therefore, did my truly honest response make sense? NOPE. It did not! See how this “like” thing works? Below is a visual of the pathway to becoming a practicing Egosynergist.
You can’t be “inspiring-like” if no one respects your skills, knowledge, and abilities. You can’t be “trustworthy-like” if no one believes you are honest-like and humble-like.You can’t be “courageous-like” if you don’t have the physical and spiritual strength of being vitality-like and the open-mind strength to create forward thinking-like ideas. In summary – being an Egosynergist means:Be EXTRAORDINARY, means you are a hard worker, an observer, a contributor, a high performer, a specialist, an expert, quietly ambitious, recognized as having special skills, assertively ambitious.
